Description:
Frank Tveor Nordensten (1955-) studied organ and piano at the Norwegian National Academy of Music, as well as harpsichord with Shethil Haugsan and composition classes with Finn Mottensen. He has worked in a wide range of genres, with Violin Concerto No. 1, Symphony No. 2, and the ballet "Grieg ajour" being his representative works. He has an electronic music production studio and works as a technician and recording producer. The Organ Concerto No. 2 is a "virtuoso dialogue" between solo organ, winds, and percussion. It is in four movements: "Allegro," "Shadow Play," "Scherzo in Hell," and "Allegro. No. 3 is subtitled "Les visages du temps" (The Faces of Time) and consists of nine movements: "Satellite 1," "Moon," "Satellite 2," "Venus," "Explorer," "Comet," "Traveler," "Satellite 3," and "Tellus," and is a "cosmic-scale" work with "organ solo, mixed chorus, children's chorus, and symphonic band. The organ solo is played by Dan Dunn, who also plays the organ solo. The organ soloist, Dan René Dahl (1967-), studied at the Norwegian National College of Music and in Paris, and is also a pianist.Fredrikstad Cathedral cantor Torre Erik Mohn (1961-) conducts.
