The band's sound has a New Wave vibe, such as The Cure and Echo and the Bunnymen, and a hint of 60s psychedelic pop, such as The Zombies, and each member has a background of over a decade of making dark, gothic pop music. The band self-released the single \"Slow It Away\" in 2013 and released a seven-song EP on \u003cmexican summer\u003e the same year. The following year, in 2014, they released the single \"Continental Shelf,\" which is also included in this album, digitally via Jagjaguwar.
