Dennis had the opportunity to meet Larry Klein at the Grammy Awards a few years ago, and the two hit it off, as Dennis had long been a fan of his work, and this new project was born. There were a wide variety of candidates for the project, but the idea for this Bacharach collection came to Larry while he was talking with a friend who had received a phone call from Burt Bacharach. Dennis grew up listening to Bacharach's music, but the task of selecting songs for this recording from his many hits was difficult. He finally picked nine songs for the recording.
