His last album was an acoustic piano trio album featuring Christian McBride (b) and Lewis Nash (ds), but this time it is a big band album. This time, however, it was a big band recording, using the original C-3 organ that Jimmy Smith had used many times for recording at Van Gelder Studios. The album features eight songs, five performed by the big band and three by the Grover Quartet, a group that has been together for 20 years, featuring Eric Alexander (ts), Peter Bernstein (g), and Joe Farnsworth (ds).It also features three Rudawn originals and Jazzmen originals by Lee Morgan and Grant Green. Popular players such as Eric Alexander (ts), Steve Davis (tb), and Jim Snaidero (as) join in for a thick sound. Each player's solo is also noteworthy. Recorded in February 2020 at Rudy Van Gelder Studio in Inglewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Maureen Sickler, who has been Van Gelder's recording partner for many years, is recording this album as well.
