It was Opera Director Klaus Helmut Drese who invited Arnoncourt to Zurich in 1974, and this 2011 concert was a memorial concert for Drese, who passed away that same year, but as it turned out, it was also the first time that Arnoncourt and the Opera Orchestra of Zurich performed together in Zurich.
