The album features big band jazz arrangements of classic Disney songs that everyone in the world must have fallen in love with at one time or another, covered by some of the top jazz artists in the world. The "Jazz Loves Disney" project was produced by engineer Jay Newland, who has worked on hit albums by a variety of artists, including Norah Jones' first album "Norah Jones (Come Away With Me)" and her second album "Feels Like Home. Produced by engineer Jay Newland and under the direction and arrangements of renowned arranger and keyboardist Rob Mounsey, the album features top artists from the jazz scene, including Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter, and Stacey Kent in Paris, The album features covers of great Disney songs recorded in Paris, London, and Los Angeles by leading jazz artists such as Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter, and Stacy Kent. Walt Disney loved jazz and took great care to create music that matched the adventures of the characters he created. The songs created by Walt Disney's musical team brought to life such unique characters as Jiminy Cricket from "Pinocchio," Baloo from "The Jungle Book," Tinker Bell and Woody from "Toy Story.Several of their songs have been nominated for Academy Awards and have won numerous awards. Jazz and pop stars have covered these songs and won numerous awards, attesting to the quality of the songs. This project was created with the same respect and connection to the most beautiful and iconic songs of Disney's magical world, and is a testament to Disney's influence on generations of jazz musicians.
