Description:
New mix + remastered version of Paul Weller's 2010 masterpiece album "Wake Up the Nation" to celebrate its 10th anniversary! I wasn't happy with the mix of 'Wake Up the Nation' for a long time. So when it was pointed out to me that it was the 10th anniversary of its release, I thought it would be a good time to give the remix a try. I like the chaos and intensity of the original mix, but there was something I just couldn't hear from it. I think you'll find a lot of things in the new mix that you didn't hear in the original, but the energy is still there. (Paul Weller) Weller's masterpiece, featuring hit singles such as "No Tears to Cry," "Wake Up the Nation," "Find the Torch Burn the Plans," and "Fast Car/Slow Traffic. Remastered by Jan 'Stan' Kybert, an engineer/mixer/producer who has worked on a series of Paul Weller albums as well as albums by Ocean Color Scene, Noel Gallagher, New Order and others, and Paul Weller himself. 1CD specification New artwork A challenging work that combines the basic acoustic/folk sound with rough, metallic, loud rock that shows the influence of David Bowie's guitar riffs from "Diamond Dogs," as well as New Orleans shuffle and psychedelic elements, and was nominated for the 2010 British Mercury Prize nominee. The album also includes the beautiful jazz waltz "In Amsterdam or No Tears to Cry" and "Aim High," one of the most popular blue-eyed soul masterpieces of the 2000s and a favorite among Weller fans from the Style Council era. The "Fast Car/Slow Traffic" and "7&3 Is the Strikers Name" featured Weller's first collaboration in 28 years with Bruce Foxton, who worked with Weller in The Jam (1977 debut/1982 breakup), which was also a big hit. Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine also participated on "7&3 Is the Strikers Name. It is dedicated to his "deceased friends," including his father John Weller, Pat Foxton, wife of Bruce Foxton, a bandmate of his from The Jam days, and Robert Kirby, who worked on Weller's works and the string arrangements of Nick Drake, Vashti Bunyan, Elton John, and others. The work was also dedicated to "friends who have passed away".
