The quartet is comprised of Marc Muellbauer (b) and Heinrich Kobberling (ds), who have been playing together for more than 17 years, and saxophonist Uli Kempendorff, who also played on the previous trio album, \"Sooner and Later\" (2016). The addition of the saxophone brings fresh energy and a new dimension to this album, which at the same time celebrates the deep melodies of Julia's work. Julia and Kempendorff first performed together about 20 years ago, when Uli was only 18 years old, and they have often played together as a duo. Marc Muellbauer, bass player, has played in many live performances with Kempendorff's group, and has participated in two albums, \"Out With It\" (2006) and \"Louise\" (2010), and has collaborated with Kempendorff on many occasions in Berlin. Julia says, \"Uli is a very important player for us right now. We had a lot of rehearsals together and it was very interesting.This is because we almost never rehearse as a trio. We analyzed the rehearsals and recorded the best material for this album. It is not an easy task for two players who are close friends, but Uli listens and analyzes, and brings his own expression of what direction the group should go in, which makes the process very sensible. Now that we are playing live with this group, it's interesting to see how the arrangements and actual music changes as we explore the music more and more. Julia says.
