This session was broadcast on BBC \"Show Of The Week - Louis Armstrong\" on September 22, 1968, two months after the recording.From the moment Louis Armstrong received his copy of this recording, he wanted the world to hear this music, so he put a note on the outside of the tape box that read \"FOR THE FANS\" and sent copies of the tape to his friends, who played them whenever he had guests over. More than 50 years after his death, it will finally be shared with fans around the world. Ricky Riccardi, Louis Armstrong's biographer and director of research and collections at the Louis Armstrong House Museum, who wrote the liner notes for the album, commented on the album: \"While he was alive, he was a friend to many friends. I can't tell you how much I wished many of his friends and fans could have heard this music while he was alive.\" Although Armstrong was not yet born when he passed away, it gives us great pride to know that a new generation will be able to enjoy this work, including the younger fans who were inspired by his music.
