Description:
Film Music Legend Visits Japan for the First Time in 30 Years to Perform with SKO for the First Time in a Miraculous Concert. John Williams, a legend who has shaped the history and sound of film music, visited Japan for the first time in 30 years last September, and will release the album "John Williams in Tokyo," which includes his first concert with the Saito Kinen Orchestra. John Williams is a legendary composer and conductor, who has been a top runner in Hollywood film music for over 50 years, winning five Academy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and a total of 26 Grammy Awards, including the recent Grammy Award for "Best Instrumental Composition" at the 66th Grammy Awards. He is a legendary composer/conductor. John Williams came to Japan last September at the invitation of Seiji Ozawa for the "Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival," for which Ozawa serves as general director, and for a special performance held in conjunction with the festival to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Deutsche Grammophon's founding. This will be his first collaboration with the Saito Kinen Orchestra. Tickets for both performances were sold out on the same day.John Williams and Seiji Ozawa have been close friends since Ozawa was the 13th Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the organizer of the Tanglewood Music Festival. The collaboration of John Williams and the Saito Kinen Orchestra in Japan has been a longtime dream of Seiji Ozawa. The imported release of this work comes in four forms: a standard CD, LP, Blu-ray, and a deluxe limited edition of two CDs and Blu-ray. The standard CD and LP include 11 pieces conducted by John Williams and "Tributes! (for Seiji)" conducted by conductor Stéphane Denève, which is being released for the first time in the world. The Blu-ray includes the first half of the concert conducted by Stéphane Denève and the second half conducted by John Williams. The Blu-ray also includes the entire concert, including the first half conducted by Stéphane Denève and the second half conducted by John Williams, as well as the MC.The deluxe limited edition CD includes 17 songs from the first and second halves of the concert (excluding MC), and the Blu-ray includes the entire concert plus interviews with John Williams and Stephane Denève, which were recorded especially for this release.
