Sly5thAve, a saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist of talent recognized by Prince, and Roberto Verastegui, a pianist and composer, have released an album together! Sly5thAve is a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who was discovered by Prince and emerged as a member of The New Power Generation, and has performed and co-written with Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monaei, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Quantic, and many other famous musicians. Sylvester Onyedziaka, a.k.a. Sly5thAve, a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, has released an album with pianist and composer Roberto Verastegui. The two originally met while studying jazz in Texas, and the idea for this release came to Sly5thAve during his first visit to Mexico, while drinking Agua de Jamaica, a drink made of water, hibiscus flowers, and sugar.This album was created during a lockdown in Mexico based on various sources of inspiration, including a passionate understanding of jazz, a love of hip-hop, Mexico City's ever-vibrant arts culture, Latin flavors, and the roots from which these sounds grew, Africa.
