Cologne-based violinist Mayumi Hirasaki has performed with many prestigious orchestras of ancient music, including the Concerto Cologne as a concerto mistress, and continues to be active as a soloist. Her last album, \"Techniques of Scordatura (Anomalous Tuning)\" (PAS-1080\/KKC-6314), was specially selected by \"Record Geijutsu\" magazine and received high acclaim in Japan, and she is now regarded as a specialist of scordatura. The \"Rosary Sonata,\" which was written for her to delve into the possibilities of the scordatura, is just what she has been waiting for. Hirasaki used multiple violins to play this bizarre collection of pieces that are difficult to handle both technically and instrumentally, which makes performers weep. He assembled a convincing whole by examining the compatibility of each sonata. The tension, color, and rich musicality of the countless tunings are woven together in a thoughtful, authentic performance that sounds vivid and brilliant with its unshakable foundation and shimmering fantasy. In addition to the wonderful solos, the ensemble is also remarkable for its high-level ensemble, with Schornsheim and other virtuoso performers.
