Fred Frith, a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who has played in Henry Cow, Art Bears, Massacre, and many other famous bands in the avant-garde music scene, and Musiques Nouvelles, one of Belgium's most successful contemporary music orchestras, have released their '23 album! Fred Frith is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who has been active in the avant-garde music scene for many years. Fred Frith is well known as an excellent instrumentalist and improviser, but one should not forget that he is also a first-rate composer. This new work reflects both sides of him beautifully, composed during Fred Frith's residency at contemporary music composer master Lou Harrison's Strawvale House in the desert of Joshua Tree, California. The piece was inspired by stillness, light, life, history . Birds, etc. inspired much of his work. Musiques Nouvelles is a deeply spiritual mix of complex orchestration and improvisation, and Fred Frith continues to energize and inspire, making this an important step forward for both!
