Since taking the helm, Petrenko has been highly acclaimed for his leadership in elevating the orchestra to the ranks of the world’s finest; he is a young Russian conductor attracting significant attention. Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 3 is considered his most quintessentially Russian work, perhaps due to its almost excessive romanticism; Rachmaninoff’s sister-in-law once remarked, “This piece embodies our family’s feelings for our homeland, Russia.”\n\nVasily Petrenko was born in 1976 in St. Petersburg, Russia. He studied under Jansons and Salonen at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He honed his opera skills as a resident conductor at the Mussorgsky Memorial Opera House and has a repertoire of 30 operas. He has conducted at the Glyndebourne Festival, the Opéra de Paris, and the Zurich Opera House. Scheduled to become chief conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2013–14 season, he is one of the most promising young conductors today.\nEMI Music Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"EMI Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595632271649,"sku":"5099967901920","price":3090.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/5099967901920.jpg?v=1790482028","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/5099967901920","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
