He began by obtaining copies of tablature from sources like the Marciana Library in Venice, transcribing them into modern notation and conducting editorial work. He meticulously analyzed the structure of the voices, clearly understanding the relationship between each voice in contrapuntal works like the Fantasia before performing.\n\n\n\n◆Barbetta's works are characterized by their high level of technical difficulty, yet they are accessible and rich in poetic sentiment. In addition to the 14 fantasias that form the core of his oeuvre, this album also includes dance pieces such as saltarello, morisca, and Barrett, as well as an arrangement of Luca Marenzio's madrigal \"Pure Pearl\".\n\n\n\n【Performance】 ◆Mikiya Kaesho began playing guitar at age 4. In 2018, he graduated top of his class with unanimous highest honors from the Master's program in Guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The following year, he relocated to Frankfurt, Germany to study the performance techniques of historical plucked instruments such as the lute and theorbo. He honed his skills in the Early Music Department at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, In 2022, he won the 11th Maurizio Plattola International Early Music Competition, considered the premier prize in the lute world. 【Recording】 ◆Recorded in December 2024 at a studio in Unterrettbach, a small village in Lower Austria, Austria.
