He then blended Christian and Jewish music by incorporating these melodies into his own compositions—either as fixed melodies or direct quotations. It is truly astonishing to learn that, upon its completion, he even played the piece for high-ranking Catholic clergy.\n\n◆Fair and Neutral\nFurthermore, it is truly impressive that, regarding the synagogues, he drew on both the Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions—the two major branches of Judaism. While the Catholic Church in Venice enjoyed greater freedom compared to Rome, this work could be seen as evidence of that very fact. Incidentally, Benedetto Marcello seems to have been a man of neutral thinking—he married the daughter of a laundress in a marriage across social classes and satirized the turmoil of the opera business in his satirical book *The Theater of Our Time*.\n\n◆A Title with a Purpose\nIt is clear that the title of this work, *Estro Poetico-Armonico* (*Poetic and Musical Inspiration*), resembles Vivaldi’s *Restro Armonico ,” which was enjoying long-running success throughout Europe at the time. Furthermore, given that he reportedly continued to court the favor of Emperor Charles VI of Vienna—perhaps with Vivaldi in mind—it seems Marcello actually possessed a very human tendency to envy the popularity of others. And perhaps, if he didn’t, his music wouldn’t be nearly as interesting.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Brilliant Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53419248943393,"sku":"5063758700290","price":2090.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/5063758700290.jpg?v=1788227584","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/5063758700290","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
