Description:

Violinist Calum Smart originally intended to record a collection of French violin works. However, after repeated rehearsals, he realized the "voices" of the pieces and tried to emphasize the individuality of each of the four works. Poulenc's sonatas, which have an image of fluidity, have never before been reproduced as such rugged music. Fauré, who is usually described as "flowing and clear," was surprisingly dense.
