Description:
The "Voice of Brazil" on vinyl. The world premiere recording of "Maria Maria," recorded by Milton Nascimento in 1976 during the golden age of Brazilian music, but long unreleased, is finally being released! Milton Nascimento is a singer and songwriter who has been called "the voice of Brazil. With his stunning voice that never ceases to captivate listeners, and his one-and-only composition that combines influences from church music, folklore from the state of Minas, Brazil, jazz, and the Beatles, he has risen to become one of Brazil's most famous musicians as soon as he made his impressive debut in the 1960s. His influence is not limited to Brazil. His influence is not limited to Brazil, but has been active in North America since the late 1960s, performing with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Paul Simon, etc. Since the 1990s, he has been rediscovered by musicians, music fans, and DJs around the world, especially with his 1972 masterpiece "Clube da Esquina". and rediscovered by musicians, music fans, and DJs around the world. For Maria Maria, which is being released on vinyl for the first time, Milton Nascimento and his close friend, lyricist Fernando Branch, collaborated with the avant-garde ballet ensemble Grupo Corpo to devise a show based on the life story of a black woman called Maria, which they recorded as a soundtrack in 1976. recorded in 1976 as a soundtrack. It was during this period that Milton released his own masterpieces such as "Minas (1975)," "Gerais (1976)," and "Milton (1976)," beginning with his participation in Wayne Shorter's masterpiece "Native Dancer (1975). This album is a work that captures one of Milton's peak periods, and even though it is unreleased material, its contents are no less than those of the aforementioned masterpieces. The album features a repertoire of gems, including the title track and other signature songs such as "Os Escravos de Jo," "A Chamada," "Pai Grande," and "Fransico"; João Donato, Vaginel Chizo, Nana Vasconcelos, Paulo Moura, and Nana Kaimi; and the uncanny performances by some of the best musicians of the time, including fellow "street corner club members" such as Clementina de Jesús, Milton's musical genius, his gushing experimental spirit, his awareness of his Afro-Brazilian roots, and his resistance to the creeping military regime, as well as his own memories of his own life, are all on display. The intersections of Milton's musical genius, his gushing experimental spirit, his awareness of his Brazilian Afro-roots, his resistance to the creeping military regime, and his own memories, are so dense that it is hard to believe that they have lain unreleased for so long. The music was released in 2002 as a 2-CD set together with "Ultimo Trem," another soundtrack recorded afterwards, and many people were exposed to the music for the first time and were astonished by its rich content. This time, "Maria Maria" is released as a 180g 2LP set.The cover, featuring a portrait of the brilliant Milton, and the raw and somewhat dark psychedelic soundscape created with Nana Vasconcelos, Vaginel Chizo, and others, have made many people say they want to hear this album on vinyl. It is a must have for all music fans and record fans, not to mention Brazilian music fans.
