Although his father and grandfather were both laborers, Frasier \"miraculously\" caught the attention of Berlioz when he entered the Conservatoire de Marseille in 1860, and was admitted to the Paris Conservatory in 1866. He lived and composed with other young composers of the same age while receiving composition instruction from Ambroise Thomas and François Bazin. Throughout his life, he wrote numerous works, among them more than 350 songs, which, although now forgotten, were highly acclaimed at the time he was alive. Recorded in 2016.
