The “Duet,” with its dynamic energy and underlying intensity, and the piano variations “Leotaurus” were written for the pianist Tamás Vášáry, a friend from his time in London. “Fallen Leaves” is also an evocative piece consisting of four movements. *Contrasts* was commissioned by virtuoso pianist John Ogdon and offers a powerful sonic experience.
