This album is a collection of such songs by Lyatoshynsky. The title, “Ozymandias,” refers to an alias for Ramses the Great, the ancient Egyptian pharaoh depicted in a poem by the English Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley; the composer may have superimposed the image of Stalin—a despotic ruler—onto that of the king, who was known for his arrogance.
