Premiered by the Berlin Philharmonic in 2018, this work centers on an elderly duchess who has been forced to vacate her room in a luxury hotel and recalls her tumultuous romantic history.\n“Five Spells” from *The Tempest* is an orchestral suite adapted from Adès’s 2003 opera, which is based on Shakespeare’s play *The Tempest*.\nThe *Inferno Suite* is a work inspired by Dante’s *Divine Comedy* and was composed during the 2019–20 season as a joint commission by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Royal Ballet.
