Oscar Peterson Trio
Description:
At this point, late 1970, the members of the Oscar Peterson Trio were George Mraz (b) and Ray Price (ds). The trio would make two albums for MPS, "WalkingThe Line" and "Another Day," but those were the only two official recordings; in 2016, SSJ unearthed the trio's 1971 performance in the U.K. to the delight of fans, and here it is again, more previously unreleased performances have appeared! This is from a tape recorded by the Deutsche Welle from a concert at the Gurzenich Concert Hall in Cologne on November 19, 1970, and is in perfect condition. The recording is in perfect condition. The songs overlap only two with the two MPS releases and two with the SSJ release, giving a good taste of Peterson's rarely recorded repertoire of "The Windmills Of Your Mind," "Somewhere," "It's Impossible," and "Hamp's Blues," among others. The album also features the drummer, who has rarely been recorded. The "Cute" album also features the virtuosity of drummer Ray Price, who has rarely been recorded on recordings.
