He also worked as clavecinist to Queen Marie Antoinette and the Duke of Chartres.\n\nHe was 65 years old at the time of the French Revolution, and although his life was not in danger because he was a commoner musician, it was a pity that he lost his remuneration as a court musician (church organist, teacher, etc.) because of the Revolution.
