He was a composer, singer, and violinist for operas performed at Venice's theaters before becoming music director of Verona Cathedral in 1762 at the age of 47. The violin sonatas on this album offer an insight into the still little-known art of the violin in northern Italy, thanks to the classical and virtuoso style brought by Tartini, Paganini, and others. Dal Barba's music eschews elements of counterpoint and specializes in harmony and melody, adopting the typical characteristics of the Neapolitan Gallic style, a novelty taken up in Venice in the early 1730s that is full of melodic development and instrumental tonal brilliance. The performance is by Valerio Rosito and Federico del Zordo. They have already recorded works by Tessarini, Veracini, and D. Scarlatti for Brilliant Classics to great acclaim.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Brilliant Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45467011875105,"sku":"5028421961903","price":2390.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/products\/5028421961903.jpg?v=1686981362","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/5028421961903","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
