Your next contest piece is here.\nStrong support for small ensembles: a selection of works in a range of styles and grades, so that every band will find something that suits it.\n\n[About the Works]\n[1] Light of Jerusalem \/ Hayato Hirose\nThe theme is Frederick II, who led Jerusalem in the cause of peace. Oriental colouring suggestive of the Middle East combined with a valiant, heroic sound. Generous optional parts make it playable by anything from sixteen players up to a medium-sized band.\n[2]-[5] From the ballet \"La pentola magica\" (The Magic Pot) \/ O. Respighi (arr. Makoto Onodera)\nA charming suite whose heroine is a wilful Russian princess. Based on Russian folk melodies and easy to grasp, it suits bands taking on an arrangement for the first time.\n[6] Coast at Dawn \/ Kazuki Shimoda\nA depiction of the dreamlike landscape of daybreak. The appeal lies in beautiful harmonic progressions that conjure glittering waves and the changing colours of the sky. Easy to play even for a band with many beginners.\n[7] Polytope \/ Masamicz Amano\nA contemporary work playable by small forces, fusing complex rhythms with beautiful melody. There are many solos, making it ideal for a band that wants to show off its individual players' sound.\n[8] Songs \/ Hirokazu Fukushima\nFrom a gentle opening to dramatic development. A work filled with the composer's wish that players will let their imaginations run free. The grade is modest.\n[9] Elegy - Ballade on the Tale of \"Sado Jowa\" [Wind Band Version] \/ Tomohito Matsushita\nA reworking of a woodwind ensemble piece; the addition of brass and percussion makes it richer in expression. A sad love story drawn from folk song, portrayed through the contrast between contemporary sonorities and lyrical melody.\n[10] Angel in the Dark \/ Shuhei Tamura\nAn abstract evocation of \"light\" and \"darkness\". Sombre inner landscapes are expressed as shifting fluctuations, leading at the end to a harmony filled with light.\n[11] Selection from the operetta \"Die Fledermaus\" [Small Band Version] \/ J. Strauss II (arr. Eiji Suzuki)\nA reworking of the hugely popular full-band arrangement. The length is unchanged while the scoring has been rebuilt. The selection covers a variety of scenes, including \"Unter Donner und Blitz\".\nBrain Music\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Brain","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53525319221537,"sku":"4995751376275","price":2934.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4995751376275.jpg?v=1789730806","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4995751376275","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
