Graduated from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts in 1984. Recipient of the First Prize at the 49th Japan Music Competition in 1980, the Japan Symphony Promotion Foundation Composition Award in 1982, and the Heisei 11 Arts Festival Excellence Award, among others. He currently serves as a Board Member, Vice President, and Professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts. As a conductor, he has premiered numerous works.
