He has participated in the Kusatsu Summer International Music Academy \u0026amp; Festival as a leader and performer since its inception, and has led numerous musicians and left behind a legacy of masterful performances. We are pleased to present here the live recording of Kusatsu in August 2019, the last time he participated in the festival. Keiko Toyama (piano) was born in Tokyo. Studied under Sadakichi Inoue from an early age. She was recognized by Alfred Cortot during his visit to Japan in 1952 and went to France at his invitation to complete her studies at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique in Paris. He studied under Alfred Cortot for three years while in school.Since his debut in Paris, France in 1963, he has been performing mainly in Europe and the U.S. In Japan, he has been active in recitals and concertos with orchestras, and is especially highly regarded in the field of chamber music. He has performed with master conductors such as Carlo Zecchi and Chandor Weg, served as a jury member for international competitions such as Ron Thibaud and Geza Anda, and participated in the Kusatsu Summer International Music Academy and Festival held every summer from the first to the 40th as a lecturer and performer. He also participated in the Kusatsu Summer International Music Academy \u0026amp; Festival as a lecturer and performer from the first to the 40th sessions. In the field of recording, he has released many CDs from Camerata, and in 2009, he and Werner Hinck, former concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, completed a duo recording of the complete works of \"Mozart: Selected Violin Sonatas\" (5 CDs). The series was critically acclaimed in various fields. He received the 51st Mainichi Art Award in 2009 for the first and second concerts of the complete Mozart Violin Sonatas with Hinck, as well as a CD of selected works.
