Description:

A masterpiece that will leave its mark on the history of Japanese animation! The film is based on the NegaScan telecine 4K master. The script, storyboards, posters, etc., have been reprinted as in "Hakubyakuden" and are included as a luxury bonus! The film utilizes the technology and experience gained over the five years since "Shirahakuden," while introducing a new production system. The sixth Toei Animation feature film, "The Wanpaku Prince's Extermination of the Serpent," which became a masterpiece that will go down in Japanese animation history as an unprecedented and innovative animated film, is now available on Blu-ray! The film, which tells a story based on Japanese mythology with gags and humor, and is full of beautifully sculpted images with flat and simple characters and stylized background art, cost approximately 70 million yen to produce, with a staff of 180, 250,000 drawings, and 1 ton of paints. The film was produced by old and new staff, including newcomer Yugo Serikawa as director and veteran artist Koji Mori as his first animation director (original picture director) to unify the overall quality of the original motion picture. The music was composed by Akira Ifukube, who has composed music for numerous films including "Godzilla. The profound music that pervades the entire film enhances the action scenes of the serpent slaying, which is the climax of the story. The scene of the serpent slaying is still talked about today as one of the most famous scenes in the history of Japanese animation, which Otsuka Kosei and Tsukioka Sadao worked on for half a year, and 300 cuts and over 10,000 moving images were spent on this scene alone. The "Wanpaku Ouji no Taibatsu Kaihatsu" (The Wanpaku Prince's Extermination of a Giant Serpent), which already broke new ground in the history of Japanese animation that began with "Hakubenden," has been revived using 4K master images. Moreover, it is now available as a valuable collection with gorgeous extras including reprinted posters, scripts, storyboards, etc. from the period! 35mm negative scan telecine 4K master. Some of the storyboards may be missing. Please note that some pages may be missing.
