As a scholarship student sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. She studied under Joaquín Soriano and graduated at the top of her class from the conservatory’s piano department. After returning to Japan, she traveled regularly to Cuba to study Cuban classical music under the master Frank Fernández. She has given recitals throughout Spain, Japan, and Cuba. To date, she has released CDs of Afro-Cuban dance music (works by Lecuona) and habaneras (danzas by Albéniz and Cervantes) on the Fontek label.
