Bravo (Mrs. Montpou) and was hailed as a “pianist with a Spanish soul,” presents her first release on Fontek. This album features features preludes by F. Mompou (1893–1987), the “Poet of the Piano,” and nocturnes by F. Poulenc (1899–1963), a member of the “Group of Six” who was also a close friend of Mompou’s.\nShizuka Shimoyama possesses a wide-ranging repertoire spanning from the Baroque to the contemporary era and has demonstrated her versatility in recent years—for example, by accompanying R. Simeone (trumpet) on his Japan tour—but she is particularly renowned for her in-depth exploration of musical works. In this recording, she masterfully distinguishes between Montpou’s works—which possess a particularly striking sense of tranquility in the annals of music history—and those of Poulenc, whose beautiful melodies earned him the title “the last 20th-century composer with a sense of melody,” even as the two composers deeply influenced one another, while simultaneously bringing harmony to their coexistence.\nFontec\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Fontec","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595445559585,"sku":"4988065095741","price":2934.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4988065095741.jpg?v=1790481145","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4988065095741","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
