Beginning the following year, 1993, the group held “Hometown Concerts” in Fukagawa City, Hokkaido, as a way to give back to their hometown. This tradition has continued for 18 years, and since 2001, the quartet has frequently performed alongside local musicians at Arte Piazza in Bibai. Furthermore, they are active in conveying the joy of music to many citizens at various facilities throughout the region, including a special needs school in Bibai, as well as kindergartens and hospitals. “Iris” means “goddess of the rainbow” in Greek; the name embodies the group’s wish to express a variety of timbres and music, much like a rainbow, and to serve as a bridge connecting many people.
