This is an album that shows a new frontier, released early after the split, pursuing darkness/mystery in the tradition of European and Eastern European black metal. This album is by BATUSHKA, whose vocalist is still active after the split. The album follows to some extent the black metal with religious atmosphere that the original BATUSHKA presented in their debut album, but it is characterized by an atmospheric guitar sound that is more post-metal than tremolo riffs. The groovy and thick drums by Pawet Jaroszewicz, formerly of VADER, are well matched with the band's sound, and a different type of black metal can be heard on this album. (C)RS
