This is the \u003cspecial edition\u003e of this project. Mravinsky's mature state is reproduced on the latest mastered SACD! The rare Vienna live performance is newly released on SACD from the Victor's analog master tapes! On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Mravinsky's birth, the only remaining analog master tapes of the three Brahms recordings in Victor's collection were used to create this SACD recording by Kazushige Yamazaki of FLAIR Mastering Works. The latest mastering process has been used to create a high quality disc that preserves the atmosphere of the original recording. In addition, a series of Gostele Radio's live performances in Leningrad will be released simultaneously in three installments, for a total of four titles, and as a special edition, the latest reissue of three of the performances recorded by ORF in Vienna in June 1978, including Brahms' Symphony No. 2, will also be released on SACD hybrid disc. The concert also includes Shostakovich's and Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphonies, which were released by Victor in 1981 as \"Mravinsky in Vienna\" (VIC2324\/7, 4LP) and have been widely popular in Japan, and have been reissued on CD several times since. At the time, the analog master tapes were sent from ORF and stored at Victor, but at present only the three tracks in this issue remain on the master tapes. Therefore, this is the latest reissue from the new analog master tape, in addition to the digital reissue from Gostele Radio. This is the first SACD release by Victor, but since an SACD has already been released by another label (the tape supply is through a different route), it would be interesting to compare the two. The high sound quality of this reissue will give a better glimpse of Mravinsky's musicality, as is typical of Victor, which has long been involved in the release of Melodia in Japan. The reissue was made using the latest equipment with \"K2\" technology (K2HD). Some of these recordings are still valuable today, as they are the only stereo recordings available. The supple sound of Brahms is especially superb, and the golden tone of the Musikverein is conveyed even though they are broadcast recordings. This is a performance of a lifetime. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the essence of Mravinsky's performance. This is one of the most outstanding recordings of the same piece, and it is difficult to find a performance that surpasses it. Mravinsky's wide range of expression is also astonishing. The tension in the unfinished version is also exceptional, and here is a gem of a performance that makes you wish you could have been there to witness it. It is regrettable that there are no analog masters of the other pieces, but we will continue our search for them.
