Carefully restored from the original analog master tapes, the sound quality on this release allows you to savor that crystalline tone more clearly than ever before.\nThese recordings document Lily Kraus—who continued to perform Mozart throughout her life—in her late 50s, representing performances from the peak of her career (in her later recordings for SONYCLASSICAL, she demonstrated superhuman stamina by recording the complete concertos and sonatas after turning 60). Conductor Victor Desarzens (1908–1986) was a Swiss conductor who studied under George Enescu. He joined the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande as a violinist, later left the ensemble, and founded the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra in 1940. He remained involved with the orchestra until 1973, primarily conducting chamber orchestras. In concert halls, he also left recordings of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, Schumann, and other works as the accompanist for L. Kraus. Additionally, a live broadcast recording of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, featuring Y. Güler, survives as a recording of this duo.\nGianfranco Rivoli (1921–2005) was an Italian-born conductor who made his debut in 1946 as a ballet conductor at La Scala. He subsequently served as music director of the Düsseldorf Opera and artistic director of the Teatro Regio in Turin. In addition, he left behind recordings from around 1954–55 in which he accompanied Odonoposov in Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1, Mendelssohn, and other short pieces (with the Geneva Radio Symphony Orchestra). In concert halls, he also accompanied L.
