Bach’s harpsichord concertos occupy a significant place in music history, and their influence on subsequent concertos for keyboard instruments is immeasurable. Four pieces were selected from this collection and recorded together with Andrew Arthur, Associate Director of The Hanover Band.\nAndrew Arthur is well known in the field of historically informed performance (H.I.P.) and has performed as a soloist on keyboard instruments, a continuo player, and a conductor with major period instrument orchestras and choirs in the United Kingdom. He is also active as the principal organist and harpsichordist at the Carmen Bach Festival in California.\nThe Hanover Band, founded in 1980 by Caroline Brown, is one of Britain’s leading early music orchestras.
