Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński!\n\nAliona Baeva performs Wieniawski’s concerto!\n“Music of Chopin’s Time” comes to life in a performance by Florencio and the 18th-Century Orchestra!\n\nFrom the “Music of Chopin’s Time” series on “NIFC,” the independent label of the National Chopin Institute of Poland, comes a new album featuring Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński’s (1807–1867) Symphony No. 2, “Characteristic,” as its centerpiece. Dobrzyński was a composer of the same generation as Chopin, who lived in Poland under the oppressive rule of Imperial Russia; he had close ties to Chopin, having studied under Józef Elsner in Warsaw during the same period. Also included on the album is a masterpiece of Romantic violin concertos: Henryk Wieniawski’s (1835–1880) Violin Concerto No. 2. The soloist is a winner of the Wieniawski International Violin Competition (2001), the Paganini International Violin Competition in Moscow (2004), and the Sendai International Music Competition (2007), and who has frequently visited Japan to perform with the NHK Symphony Orchestra (she is scheduled to perform with the NHK Symphony again in May 2022!). In addition, for the Clarinet Concerto by Karol Kurpiński (1785–1857), the album features Eric Hoprich—principal clarinetist of the 18th Century Orchestra and a virtuoso on historical clarinets—as the soloist. Hoprich previously recorded Krupinski’s concerto with the 18th Century Orchestra in 2019 (GCD921128), but this recording was made about a year before that. The conductor is José Maria Florêncio (Jr.) from Brazil, who studied conducting at the Warsaw Academy of Music and has resided in Poland since 1985, serving as music director of the Grand Theater in Łódź, Music Director of the Wrocław Opera and the Moniuszko Grand Theater, Artistic Director of the Polish Radio Choir and the Poznań Philharmonic, and Principal Conductor of the Polish National Opera (Warsaw Grand Theater), among other leading positions in Poland. Drawing on his wealth of experience and passion for Polish music, he will recreate “Music from Chopin’s Era” together with the 18th-Century Orchestra.\nTokyo M-Plus\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"NIFC","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53374661820705,"sku":"4947182116777","price":2829.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4947182116777.jpg?v=1787632245","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4947182116777","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
