Following the collection of Classical-era trumpet concertos (INDE145), the second release from Indesens is a collection of modern and contemporary concertos.\nWith the previous release, a collection of Classical-era trumpet concertos, he got off to a great start with a program that was perfect for his debut solo recording, featuring works by Haydn, Hummel, Neruda—considered the “bible” for trumpet players—as well as a concerto by the contemporary French composer Gangne, written in the style of Mozart.\nThis album features works composed from the 1950s to the present. In addition to the Artunian concerto—considered an indispensable part of any trumpeter’s repertoire—this album features a world premiere recording of a concerto by Canadian composer John Estacio, composed in 2017 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. This work incorporates a wide range of elements—from film scores to chamber music, symphonies, and operas—a world premiere recording.
