Kaplan’s third “Resurrection”—a live recording (and, of course, the world’s first recording!) of the “small-ensemble version”—premiered at the Vienna Konzerthaus in February 2013.\n\nThis “arrangement for a small orchestra (chamber orchestra),” created by Kaplan and Rob Mathis, reduces the “Resurrection”—which is typically performed by an orchestra of over 100 musicians—to just 56, roughly half the original size. Despite the significant reduction in size, the arrangement faithfully preserves Mahler’s musical intent and color, and was created to make the allure of *Resurrection*—the work that changed Kaplan’s life—accessible to a wider audience.\n\nThe 1988 recording, which sold nearly 200,000 copies worldwide, is considered “the best-selling Mahler recording in history,” while the 2002 edition—for which Kaplan personally funded the collection of Mahler’s autograph scores and re-edited them from scratch—generated significant buzz as the “Critical Edition” officially recognized by the International Mahler Society. and there is no doubt that this “small-ensemble version,” released at just the right moment, will be major news that will shake up 2014.\nTokyo M-Plus\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Avie","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595445756193,"sku":"4947182109922","price":4400.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4947182109922.jpg?v=1790481146","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4947182109922","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
