Originally composed in five acts in French, it was later translated into Italian and, after several revisions, settled into this 1884 version. The ballet music and the entire first act of the French version were completely cut. The narrative was streamlined, resulting in a highly concentrated and intense story. With its many captivating arias and memorable moments, it remains a highly popular work to this day. The Teatro Regio di Torino is a theater with a long history, having held its grand opening in 1740. While it experienced repeated cycles of decline and revival—including a period of great splendor in the early 1900s when Toscanini served as music director—it was destroyed by fire in 1936. It ceased to function as an opera house for nearly 40 years. However, reconstruction began in 1965, and a reopening ceremony was held in April 1973, breathing new life into the venue. Its productions—which feature lavish costumes and traditional staging, a rarity in recent years—consistently receive high acclaim from around the world. This 2013 production of “Don Carlo” is a revival of the highly successful 2006 production. Told against a backdrop of sumptuous costumes and sets reminiscent of a Velázquez painting, this captivating story is sure to enchant every member of the audience. Ramón Vargas’s beautiful voice shines in the title role, and the characters surrounding him deliver compelling performances, while the orchestra, conducted by Noseda, weaves a rich tapestry of sound.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Opus Arte","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53530759495969,"sku":"4945604971393","price":6390.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4945604971393.jpg?v=1789819056","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4945604971393","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
