The work is in five movements, and through performances by a choir, a children's choir, two soloists, and an orchestra, it musically expresses the provisions of the UDHR and the words of human rights defenders. The music is dramatic and compelling, seeking a contemporary and austere expression with a scale and depth reminiscent of works by Beethoven and Britten, with the first movement opening with a bright fanfare, followed by a poignant and beautiful musical development in the second movement. The third movement centers on a rhapsody sung by children, and the fourth movement echoes a quiet assertion, \"I am human. The final movement is an uplifting, joyful music that ends peacefully. The powerful performance by the orchestra, which was assembled for this occasion by players living in the New York area, is also a highlight of the concert.\n\nThe album is accompanied by a song based on the episode of Major Gregory, who was killed in World War I, as depicted by William Butler Yeats, and a song about Abraham Lincoln's letter to the widow of a son lost in the Civil War, which sings a somber song about the human cost of war.\n\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Naxos","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50865318822177,"sku":"4945604791809","price":2690.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4945604791809.jpg?v=1742718761","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4945604791809","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
