He has been composing for over 40 years, and his works are composed with highly refined harmonies and intricately detailed textures. With the exception of \"Aria for Flute and Piano,\" all of the nine works on this album were written in the 21st century. One of the most interesting pieces is the compact \"Seven Haiku\". These are richly nuanced works that show his style in real time. Music is born abruptly and then abruptly cut off or quietly fades away. The \"Six Annotations\" with narrator, the playful and improvisational \"Aria,\" and other small pieces that remind one of a kaleidoscope. The \"Pastoral Song,\" with its idyllic melody intermittently heard, is another ingenious and interesting piece.
