He became a favorite of Maria Theresa, wife of Emperor Franz II, who often asked him to compose festive music for the court and stage productions. He was also friends with Mozart, who was born in the same year, and after Mozart's death, his widow Constanze helped him publish her late husband's works. This album contains two symphonies, an overture from an opera, and a sinfonia.
