After meeting Andres Segovia, he composed a series of guitar works, and over the next few years he wrote more than 100 works for guitar. The Guitar Quintet was premiered in 1951 with Segovia on guitar. In the classical form, the first movement has an impressive phrase somewhat reminiscent of Beethoven's \"Rural,\" the second movement is deeply moving, the third movement is lively, and the work ends with a violent final movement. The joyful \"Sonatina for Flute and Guitar,\" the idyllic \"Eclogue,\" and the \"Fantasy,\" composed for Segovia and his first wife, Paquita Madriguera, are music in which the sounds of guitar and piano blend exquisitely.
