Like the well-received first collection (8.574005), the second collection, conducted by Dario Salvi, includes mostly world premiere recordings of overtures and interludes, as well as the \"Violin Concerto,\" also a world premiere. The overture to \"Concert or Debutante at the Court,\" which opens with bright, bold chords, tells the story of Adele, a singer who overcomes social intrigue and obtains a job as a court singer. Aubert's favorite \"repetitive forms\" appear throughout this delightful work. Other elegant and refined works include the overture to \"Fiorella,\" set in 18th century Rome, and the simple but beautiful overture to \"Julie,\" Aubert's first work for the stage, as well as the \"Violin Concerto,\" which has a classical appearance reminiscent of Tartini and Mozart.
