This time, internationally acclaimed flutist Shigenori Kudo is the guest performer, and the album includes a series of works related to water and natural landscapes. In addition to Takemitsu's works, works by Ichiro Nohira, known as one of the busiest musicians working today as a composer, pianist, and educator, and his wife, Tami Nohira, are also featured. The album is the fruit of the friendship between musicians Shinichi Fukuda, Shigenori Kudo, and the Nohiras, both of whom have been studying in Paris for nearly 40 years. The first three pieces are by Takemitsu. The opening piece, \"To the Sea,\" is Takemitsu's original music that develops based on three notes derived from the English \"S(Es)-E-A.\" The work depicts a vast and mysterious seascape, stirring the listener's imagination in many ways. The following piece, \"Nami no Bon\" is music for a TV drama colored by a beautiful melody. The original orchestral piece was arranged for guitar by Fukuda's favorite disciple Daisuke Suzuki. And \"Air,\" which has a strong affinity with \"To the Sea,\" is included. This solo flute piece was composed for the 70th anniversary concert of the great master Aurel Nicolet, and was Takemitsu's last work. Next is a work by Ichiro Nohira, who makes his first appearance in the series. Memories of Waves\" was first performed by Shinichi Fukuda in February 2011, and was revised in 2017 for this recording. It is a unique piece that incorporates various special techniques such as chalking, percussion sounds, and string scraping, gradually transforming the waves as musical sounds into otherworldly sounds. In addition, Tami Nohira's \"Water drops\" expresses the irregularity of a single drop of water falling through the rich tones of the guitar. The piece is filled with beautiful sounds reminiscent of a kaleidoscope. The arrangements of six Japanese songs by the Nohiras shed new light on well-known melodies. The different styles of each of the couples can also be enjoyed. The final song on the album, \"The Moon Over the Deserted Castle,\" is an encore-like homage to Piazzolla's classic \"History of Tango.
