Captivated by the charm of folk music, Groven settled in Oslo, and even after receiving a formal musical education, he devoted himself to conveying the beauty of folk music to the public. He not only actively promoted them through radio programs and articles but also collected some 2,000 Norwegian folk songs, even traveling as far as Alaska to gather melodies passed down by the Inuit. The two symphonies included on this album are both imbued with the unique rhythms and sounds of folk dance, offering listeners a fresh and innovative experience.
