Already a favorite in Japan! NAXOS is proud to present a recital album by Aoihee Park. Born in Incheon, Korea, she started playing guitar in Yokohama at the age of 3. She has won prizes in various competitions and has recently released several albums, gaining immense popularity. She has won two major competitions: the Agustin Barrios International Guitar Competition in 2010 and the Alhambra International Guitar Competition in 2012. This album release commemorates this accomplishment. The Scarlatti sonatas are her own arrangements, and the music is fluid without the slightest hint of the difficulties involved in arranging keyboard pieces for solo guitar. The rarely heard Diapelli sonata and the works of modern composer Berklee are also impeccably performed and convey the beauty of these works in their entirety. The heartbreakingly wistful sound of Maratu's Serenade, a well-known encore piece, and the superb virtuosity of the Lopez-Lopez are also worth listening to.The highlight is Barrios' "Dreaming in the Forest," where her signature too-beautiful tremolo in the middle part of the song will surely penetrate your heart to the fullest!
