This is the sixth volume of organ works by Scheidemann (c. 1595–1663), a master of keyboard music who was active in Hamburg during the 17th century. At that time, musicians from all over Europe gathered in Hamburg, but Scheidemann stood out even among them; perhaps for this reason, his works are known for having a significantly larger number of surviving scores than those of other composers. Furthermore, as organ performance capabilities improved during this period, so too did the demands on playing technique; consequently, the works featured here are large-scale pieces that make full use of complex counterpoint. One cannot help but revere him as a truly rare talent—not merely as a “precursor to J.S. Bach.”\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Naxos","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595535311137,"sku":"4945604731188","price":2690.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4945604731188.jpg?v=1790481531","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4945604731188","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
