Many of you may have already caught a glimpse of her talent in the previously released song collection (8.570981). Although she composed some 500 works during her 42-year life and had a profound influence on her brother Felix, her compositions have long been overlooked simply because she was a woman. First and foremost, set aside all preconceptions and listen to this eloquent music. Although she reportedly wished for her works to be “treated as the pastime of a housewife,” deep within those words, one can discern the figure of a genius brimming with talent she could scarcely contain. Her pieces in the minor keys, in particular, are brimming with heartbreak and passion, evoking a thrill almost as intense as listening to Beethoven’s works.
Naxos Japan

Tracklisting:

.Allegro molto in C minor
.Notturno in G minor
.Piano Sonata in C minor: Allegro moderato e con espressione
.Piano Sonata in C minor: Andante con moto
.Piano Sonata in C minor: Finale: Presto
.Lied in E flat major
.Piano Sonata in G minor: Allegro molto agitato
.Piano Sonata in G minor: Scherzo
.Piano Sonata in G minor: Adagio
.Piano Sonata in G minor: Finale: Presto
.Adagio in E flat major
.Andante con moto in E major
.Sonata o Capriccio
.Allegro molto agitato in D minor
.Schluss
